We finally released our official Veed.me video.
Using our dog food
Most people who know us (the founders of Veed.me) know that we have a very rich background in filmmaking and all types of video making. So, it would have made sense for us to pull the trigger on making this video ourselves.
Those who know us, also know how much we believe in outsourcing video production to our amazing creative community of filmmakers around the world.
They call it using your own dog food, and that’s exactly what we did.
We wanted a cinematic experience that would capture the viewes imagination, for us it was more about branding and less about explaining.
We reached out to some of our creators who came up with different concepts and ideas.
The one concept we loved the most was Omer’s, an Israeli film grad with extensive experience with VFX and directing.
Choosing the video concept and producing it.
Omer brought up some different inspiration references such as – Street Fighter video games, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the world and even the movie 300.
We loved Omer’s vision and started to develop the voice over script which the video will be in line with. We reached out to one of our busiest creators on Veed.me, Noam (based in LA), a very creative and successful director who helped us with tweaking the script to better fit our main market – the US. Once finished with the script, the visuals just fell into place.
Eventually the concept we decided to go with was the concept of a protagonist – a marketing guy or a business owner that needs a video, he understands how important it is but feels very intimidated by the mission – “The video mission” – represented metaphorically by a giant and a mountain.
The wintry mountain represents the tough video mission, with some video companies logos visualizing it even more.
The idea was to have the protagonist using Veed.me to overcome these obstacles using a “Veed.me button” that saves him with the Veed.me super heroes who have the different skills needed for all types of videos.
As we really believe that our creators are magicians – creating video from scratch, we decided that super heroes will fit perfectly.
It was time to let go and “trust the process”.
Omer directed the video in a little studio at Tel Aviv university with Oded, another Veed.me creator with extraordinary cinematographic skills.
They had a small budget so one of the actors was a Veed.me intern and much of the crew was made up of our friends.
Post Production and external services
After having the offline version the real complicated work begun – the post production stage which meant building the whole world that replaced the green screen.
You can see yourself how it looks with and without the VFX below:
For the British voice over we used the “Veed.me for voice overs” called VoiceBunny, a great service that didn’t let us leave without having the perfect voice over that we wanted.
The Video and it’s goals
We are very aware of the fact that this video won’t teach you how Veed.me works and we’re not even trying to convince you that the video is the most useful marketing tool today
The goal of this video is very simple – to build Veed.me’s brand and associate it with the professional, worldwide creative community that we built, that will help you in your journey to the top.
